CPN now offers you the chance to customise the website to your needs – via the ‘Personal Preferences’ option at the top of the CPN homepage – so you can discover all about the Canon pro equipment you own and the genres of photography and filmmaking you’re interested in.
For example, you may have an EOS-1D X DSLR and primarily be interested in Sports photography – so you can set these as your ‘Personal Preferences’ and easily access the CPN content that is exactly tailored to your needs. This will include a mixture of Technical articles, News stories, Interviews, Product information and much more about the Canon equipment and/or genre you’re most interested in.
It’s very simple to use – just follow the step-by-step guide below to discover how easy it is to use…
‘Personal Preferences’ explained… a step-by-step guide
STEP 1 – Choose your language
The ‘Personal Preferences’ option is available in multiple languages – English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. Just click on the language flag navigation option at the top right of the CPN homepage to choose your preferred language.
STEP 2 – Open the ‘Personal Preferences’ drop-down
Once you’ve chosen your preferred language just click on ‘Personal Preferences’ at the top of the CPN homepage and this will open up a drop-down box with all of the filter options.
STEP 3 – Use Filters to create ‘Your CPN’
You can now create ‘Your CPN’ by selecting from a number of Product or Genre filters. The Product filters include specific DSLR, PowerShot and Cinema EOS cameras, types of lenses, and product groups – for example, Photo Accessories and PIXMA Pro printers. Genre filters include specific types of photography or filmmaking, such as Nature/Wildlife or Sport.
Just tick any box in the Personal Preferences drop-down box to select one or more of the Product or Genres filters that you wish to find out more about and save as your preferences.
STEP 4 – Press ‘Update’
Now press the ‘Update’ button at the bottom right of the Personal Preferences drop-down box to view your specific customisation request...
STEP 5 – View your results
Your ‘Personal Preferences’ results will appear on a new page.
STEP 6 – Set results Chronologically or By relevance
On your ‘Personal Preferences’ page you can adapt your results to view results Chronologically (the most recently published articles will appear at the top first) or By relevance.
STEP 7 – Save your settings
If you are happy with your choices just tick the ‘Save settings on this computer’ box in the Personal Preferences drop-down box to save your chosen settings. This means the CPN website’s ‘Personal Preferences’ results will be tailored to your exact needs on your next visit and you can easily see if any new content has become available since your previous visit.
STEP 8 – Reset your preferences
At any point in time you can click the ‘Reset’ button in the Personal Preferences drop-down box to make any changes and ensure that ‘Your CPN’ is customised to meet your latest needs. For example, you may buy a new camera and want to find out everything about that particular model.
