What is Editor's Choice?
Editor's Choice is a recently introduced interactive feature of CPN that allows Canon photographers to submit their images for review by the world's top photo editors. All of the entries are then viewed and edited by a big name 'guest editor' who makes a selection of the best submitted images. These are then showcased on CPN with the reasons behind the choices explained. If you believe your photographs are good enough to be showcased on the CPN website Editor's Choice gives you that unique opportunity.

Our Current Editor
Monica Allende, picture editor of The Sunday Times Magazine.
The current guest editor of Editor’s Choice is Monica Allende, who has worked for The Sunday Times Magazine since 2002 and is currently picture editor of the publication. Over the next few weeks she will be viewing, appraising and editing your photographs that have been entered online to Editor’s Choice.
After gaining a degree in political science, from the University of London, Monica Allende worked as a picture editor for DK, APA and Pearson publishers. She then worked for The Independent newspaper before switching to The Sunday Times. She joined the Sunday Times Magazine in 2002 and, as picture editor, is responsible for all aspects of photography contained within the weekly publication. During her tenure The Sunday Times Magazine has received several awards for its photography including the Picture Editor’s Award for Best Magazine in 2006; the Best Feature in Photojournalism from Amnesty International; and Best Photography at the Design Awards. You can now enter your photographs to Editor’s Choice for review by Monica Allende.

Volker Lensch began his career as a freelance photojournalist for local newspapers before, in 1985, he became an assistant in the photo department of Bild newspaper (Germany's largest daily newspaper). The following year he began running the photo department for the Hamburg edition of Bild. By 1987 he was deputy photo editor for the weekly magazine Bildwoche and he moved to work for the famous German weekly news magazine Stern in 1992. In 1994 he was promoted to become deputy photo editor of Stern and took up his current position as photo editor of Stern in 1996.
