The 18 Megapixel Canon EOS 60D is a highly specified APS-C format camera that is the first EOS DSLR to feature a flip-out LCD screen and offers some impressive in-camera features (including RAW processing), Full HD movie shooting and a range of re-designed controls to make it easy and intuitive to operate.
The camera's groundbreaking 3-inch, 1,104,000-dot Vari-angle Clear View LCD monitor provides great viewing options for both Live View and EOS Movie shooting, even at awkward angles or in very bright light.
The EOS 60D offers full HD movie shooting with full manual control over the exposure and user selectable frame rates including 24, 25 and 30fps at 1920x1080p, and 50 or 60fps at 1280x720p. Audio recording levels can be left in Auto or manually set to provide more control over the final results.
The ergonomic controls of the EOS 60D include a Mode Dial lock to avoid accidentally knocking the selected mode out and the buttons on the top LCD panel have been modified so there is only one button per function - for AF, Drive, ISO and Metering. At the centre of the Quick Control Dial on the rear of the camera a rocker switch functions in the same way as the Multi-Controller on other EOS DSLR cameras to help speedy operation of settings.

In-camera functions on the EOS 60D include RAW image processing and a built-in wireless flash controller that allows photographers to have full wireless multiple flash control of two remote groups of Speedlites, using E-TTL II or by setting the flash powers manually for each group. The built-in flash can also act as a third group to provide an extra light source.
The EOS 60D's spec also includes a 5.3fps shooting speed for up to 58 Large JPEG files in a single burst and an ISO range from 100-6400 as standard, with ISO 12,800 available via an expansion setting.
The camera incorporates an iFCL metering algorithm and 63 Dual-layer metering sensor, first seen on the EOS 7D, and has a 9-point AF system that provides high speed, high accuracy autofocus for accurate tracking of moving subjects and locking on to static subjects.
The EOS 60D is compatible with Eye-Fi, SD, SDHC and SDXC cards - a factor that has helped to keep the camera's design compact. Eye-Fi cards integrate a wireless LAN module and an antenna so you can save your images to the memory card and wirelessly transmit them to a WiFi network.
