Most recent EOS cameras feature a function to map the position of dust on the sensor so it can be applied to the image in Canon’s DPP software and dust can be automatically removed. If you’re shooting landscapes with skies, this is a very effective, and time-saving, method of removing dust from images. If you find that you have performed the Dust Delete Data measurements, but then the data does not seem to be showing up in DPP, check whether the Distortion Correction setting was applied in-camera in the lens corrections. If it was, then the Dust Delete Data will have not been appended to the image.
