The Focus on Imaging show – Europe’s biggest annual imaging show – will see Canon showcasing the EOS range of SLRs and accompanying lenses as well as offering free-to-enter seminars on each day of the show.
The show runs from February 22 to 25 at the Birmingham NEC complex in central England and the Canon space will feature a series of special EOS ‘pods’ dedicated to specific cameras and lenses. The pods are a joint EOS 1000D and 450D pod, an EOS 40D and 50D pod, an EOS 5D and 5D Mark II pod, and an EOS-1 series pod. There will also be an additional ‘EOS expert’ pod where you can come along and ask any questions about the EOS range to Canon’s technical and product experts.
Canon UK’s Estelle Sexton told CPN: “There will be six cameras on each pod and each one of them will be fitted with different lenses to see and try. There will also be a lens balcony with a range of superzoom lenses.”
The Canon seminars during Focus on Imaging will feature special guest photographers who will each present twice a day. On February 22 Canon Ambassador Jeff Ascough will present on low light wedding shoots; on February 23 Daily Mirror staff photographer James Vellacott will explain a day in his life; on February 24 landscape nature and travel photographer David Noton will showcase his work and tell tales of his travels; and on February 25 the wedding, portrait and social photographer Damien Lovegrove will be giving a portrait masterclass.
In addition to the guest speakers each day Canon Europe’s Brian Worley will be giving seminars on the EOS 50D and EOS software and workflow; the British Press Photographers’ Association will be holding a seminar about the challenge of publishing photography books; and Brendan Wright from Velmex Ltd will explain the business opportunities for photographers using large format printers.
At the Canon area at Focus on Imaging there will also be a special CPN pod that will also feature details of the new Canon UK retail initiative - EOS Professional Network - that features professional dealers who can explain and advise on the full Canon digital workflow solution.
Focus on Imaging will be held at the Birmingham NEC from February 22 to 25 and is open to visitors daily from 10am to 6pm on the first three days of the show and 10am to 5pm on the final day. For more Focus on Imaging show information just click here.
