Canon will have its biggest ever presence at this year’s Photokina ‘World of Imaging’ trade fair – to be held at the Koeln Messe in Cologne, Germany from 23-28 September – where visitors can ‘touch and try’ the latest Canon professional photography and video equipment.

The largest ever Canon space at Photokina will be located in Hall 3.2 of the Koeln Messe and it will play host to a series of VIP guest speakers drawn from the worlds of photography, journalism and video. They will include Gary Knight, co-founder of the VII Photo agency and one of Canon Europe’s Ambassadors, and Tim Hetherington, the winner of this year’s World Press Photo of Year. The speakers will discuss their work and their relationship with the Canon products they shoot with.

Daily shows will detail Canon's latest photography and video products, while a fully equipped studio will be hosting live demonstrations. Visitors to the Canon stand will also have the chance to ‘touch and try’ the latest EOS SLRs and lenses and Canon camcorders.

Canon’s team of technical and product experts will be on hand to demonstrate the products and explain the key technologies incorporated within them. The photography products on show at Photokina 2008 will include the EOS-1Ds Mark III camera and the recently launched EF200mm f/2 IS USM lens.

Canon High Definition camcorders at Photokina 2006 - the latest HD camcorders will be on show for 'touch and try' at Photokina 2008.

The video counter at Photokina 2008 will feature the XL H1S and XL H1A pro camcorders alongside many of Canon’s other high definition (HD) camcorder models. The video space will also feature special moving displays so that visitors can try out the abilities of the HD camcorders by shooting with them. There will also be plenty of information and examples of the HD technologies in Canon’s camcorder range at Photokina.

At Photokina 2008 Canon will also be showing the new HF11 AVCHD camcorder. This model offers Dual Flash Memory to record movies to 32Gb of internal memory or to an SDHC memory card. It also delivers 1920x1080 Full HD recording at 24Mbps - the highest resolution picture size you can get, at the highest possible data rate for AVCHD.
