Michael Nichols: Redwoods, California's Timber Wars
Michael Nichols (National Geographic) spent a year living in Northern California to document the battle to save the cutting of the giant Redwoods - the tallest trees on earth. In the past 100 years 95% of the greatest forest in the world has been cut, causing a legacy of fouled streams and scarred land. Michael Nichols spoke to CPN, on film, about the challenging project and how he photographed the amazing 18-metre high composite tree photo that's hanging in the Eglise des Dominicains.
