CPN is going live for the first time at this month's Visa pour l'Image international festival of photojournalism (27 August to 11 September) in Perpignan, France, as part of Canon's biggest ever programme of activities at the event.
As well as reporting on the festival, CPN will be interviewing world famous photographers, videographers and industry experts in front of a live audience at the Palais des Congrès in Perpignan from 30 August to 2 September. Interviewees include VII Photo's Christopher Morris and Magnum's Paolo Pellegrin. See the table below for details of the full programme.
Canon, as principal sponsor at the 23rd Visa pour l'Image, will be running a series of events at the festival, including presentations by leading photo agencies, Canon Ambassadors, industry experts and Apple. Adobe will also be on hand to advise on workflow, and their stills and video editing software. These will take place in Hall 3 on the ground floor of the Palais des Congrès. In addition, Anthony Holland Parkin, Senior Art Director at Getty Images, and manager of the agency's Global Assignment roster of 650 photographers, will be giving 24 free 30-minute portfolio reviews on 1 and 2 September. The sessions can be booked on a first come-first serve basis in the Canon space before 1 September.
As in previous years, Canon will occupy its exhibition space in the Palais where visitors will be able to see the latest range of Canon products and solutions, from image capture through to printing, including:
- an expanded Canon Professional Services (CPS) area, where accredited visitors can borrow the latest EOS bodies, lenses and accessories and have their equipment checked and cleaned free of charge;
- a photo space displaying the very latest EOS DSLRs, lenses, accessories, and the PowerShot G-series of digital compact cameras;
- a ‘print-on-demand' area where visitors can discover models from the PIXMA range and print their photos;
- a professional photo studio where the EOS system will be shown in action, with captured images being printed on PIXMA Pro and ImagePROGRAF printers;
- a photo exhibition displaying the works of Canon Ambassadors, including Brent Stirton, Paolo Pellegrin, Gary Knight, Ziv Koren, and Michael ‘Nick' Nichols;
- a professional video area, featuring the latest Canon professional video products, including the new XF300 and XF100-series models.
The presentations and intervews will all take place in Hall 3 on the ground floor of the Palais des Congrès (diagonally opposite the Canon Space) in central Perpignan. The times and schedule is shown below:
