CPN Magazine publishes issue 2 in five languages
The second issue of CPN Magazine is currently being distributed and is now available in five languages – English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
The high-quality magazine showcases the work of famous and emerging photographers from Europe and around the world. The first issue appeared last year in English only, but with the addition of four of the other major European languages, is expected to secure a wider audience. It’s distributed free to all existing Canon Professional Services (CPS) members in Europe.
Editor Mike Stanton said: “The reaction to the first issue was very positive, and Canon is keen to ensure that as many of its CPS members as possible are able to enjoy it and participate in it.”
This second issue features a 10-page retrospective of Time magazine’s David Burnett, one of the hardest-working and most creative photographers of the past 40 years. CPN Magazine follows his career from a hurried shot of John F. Kennedy (taken when Burnett was just 16), through Vietnam, Chile, the Iranian Revolution, the Reagan years to the Monica Lewinsky affair, plus decades of covering the world's biggest sporting events.
CPN Magazine also talked to the Mariko Takeuchi, guest curator at last year’s Paris Photo, about the history of, and current trends in, Japanese art photography. There’s a look at Palani Mohan’s stunning black and white images depicting the sometimes unhappy lot of Asian elephants, a fascinating study of the world’s largest squatted building by Brazilian photographer Julio Bittencourt, and an extended technical article on the groundbreaking EOS 5D Mark II digital SLR camera – plus much more to read and look at.
