CPN magazine issue 3 now being distributed
The third issue of CPN magazine, available in five languages, is now being distributed and takes readers on a photographic journey from ruminations on the billions of web images to the dressing rooms and corridors of the major fashion shows.
The glamorous, and not so glamorous, world of fashion features heavily as the magazine goes behind the scenes of the shows with two conflict photographers and a former ballerina. Magnum photographer Chris Anderson remembers how he snapped the legendary editor-in-chief of American Vogue Anna Wintour: "Her bodyguard is wearing a face that says, 'Don't you ever try that again.' But she's looking at me with what I'd like to think of as a fond respect. Like, 'Wow, that kid's got guts.'" There's also an extensive profile of Canon Ambassador and Orchard by Getty Images photographer Lorenzo Agius who reveals what it's like to work with the likes of Madonna and Tom Cruise.
Inaugural Prix Pictet winner Benoit Aquin tells CPN magazine the story behind The Chinese Dust Bowl.
The first Prix Pictet winner, Benoit Aquin, explains the story behind his important series, The Chinese Dust Bowl. Journalist Patrick Alleyn says he and Aquin witnessed what is "probably the largest conversion of productive land into sand anywhere in the world."
Elsewhere, we delve into the pages of an Italian institution, La Gazzetta dello Sport's Saturday supplement, Sportweek. German photographer Jan von Holleben makes us dream of flying with his playful photography and Henry Horenstein combines science and art in his startling animal portraits. One of the leading figures in advertising, Wunderman's David Harris, reveals how young photographers can get a foot in the door, and we take a close look at the EOS 50D and two of Canon's leading prime lenses.
CPN magazine is distributed free to all existing Canon Professional Services (CPS) members in Europe and all CPS members across Europe should receive their copies of issue 3 of CPN magazine within the next two weeks. If you are an existing European CPS member and want to ensure you don't miss out on receiving your CPN magazine, please make sure your contact details are up to date by clicking here.
