During the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand Canon will provide comprehensive technical support for international and local Canon Professional Services (CPS) members at over 30 games across the country.
As host nation of the tournament New Zealand will welcome hundreds of international photojournalists and videographers looking to capture the showcase event in the Rugby Union calendar, which runs from 9 September until 23 October.
CPS will provide support services – checks, cleans and equipment loans – to all accredited professional photographers using Canon EOS pro equipment during the World Cup. Photographers will be able to have their equipment serviced by CPS teams at seven venues across the country, including match venues at Eden Park, Trust Stadium Wellington and Otago Stadium.
A CPS Service Centre will be within the Media Centre at Eden Park – it will be open every day from 1 September until 23 October (from 9m to 5pm on non-match days; 9am to match end on match days). At the Trust Stadium Wellington and Otago Stadium the CPS Service Centres are again located within the stadia’s Media Centres. In Welllngton and Otago CPS teams will be available on games days and captains’ run only.
Canon New Zealand is hosting a ‘Kiwiana’ themed get-together on 28 September at the Voyager Maritime Museum, Auckland, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. The event will give international CPS members a chance to meet New Zealand CPS members and the Canon team.
CPS will be contactable on a dedicated free-call number and will manage all enquiries about opening times and dates – just dial 0800 269 270. For further information about CPS support during the tournament and events please e-mail Canon New Zealand CPS.
