CPS registration reminder
To take advantage of the full range of Canon Professional Services (CPS) benefits all CPS members are encouraged to keep their registered equipment list up-to-date.
The European CPS programme offers Canon professional photo and video users exclusive access to a range of benefits including a priority repair service, improved service turnaround times, support at major events, and free back-up equipment loans during repair periods (depending on your level of CPS membership). The CPS Photo programme operates on a three-tier basis – Platinum, Gold and Silver* – with the level of membership depending on the qualifying cameras and lenses you own. To join you need to own at least two qualifying bodies and three qualifying lenses. To join the CPS Video programme you must own at least one of the qualifying professional camcorders or Cinema EOS Digital Cinema Cameras.
Qualifying products update
The registration of CPS qualifying products helps to determine your CPS membership level. Once a product has been discontinued for a period of time the availability of spare parts becomes limited; this means that Canon will no longer be able to meet the turnaround times set down for CPS members. Therefore Canon, from time to time, has to remove older products from the list of CPS qualifying products. CPS members should note that from July 2014, the following DSLRs and lenses will no longer be classified as CPS qualifying products:
- EOS-1Ds Mark II
- EOS-1D Mark II N
- EF14mm f/2.8L
- EF16-35mm f/2.8L
- EF35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L
Please note that the removal of the products above from the CPS qualifying products may impact upon your current CPS membership level. Therefore Canon encourages you to ensure the equipment registered in your CPS equipment list is up-to-date, so that your CPS membership level remains accurate. The products listed above can remain in your CPS account and may still be repairable under non-CPS turnaround times.
The European CPS programme is currently available in: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic (Silver membership only) Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary (Silver membership only), Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland (Silver membership only), Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates (Silver membership only) and the UK.
In addition professional photographers and videographers can now register their information and equipment in the following 27 countries: Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malta, Oman, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and the Ukraine. Whilst CPS repairs and loans are not available in these 27 countries all registered CPS members from these countries can take advantage of CPS repair and loan benefits when they travel to one of the 22 countries that do offer the European CPS programme.
