Wunderman's David Harris has selected his favourite commercial, advertising and fashion images submitted to Editor's Choice 2 in October by CPN readers from around the world.
David Harris, Executive Creative Director at digital direct agency Wunderman in London.
In a multimedia presentation he chooses 28 pictures and talks in detail about his favourite ones.
He said that fresh images are more important than ever in the commercial world because consumers see so many pictures. "The amazing digital cameras you buy now mean that pretty much anyone can take a properly exposed image. Because of that the snap shot-type of image that was quite in vogue has suddenly become so everyday that we are looking for something different now. I still believe that lighting is key to a great image and in the right hands something quite ordinary can become spectacular." He urged students and up-and-coming photographers to take risks with their photography and be inspired by other disciplines such as art.
Editor's Choice links photographers with the world's best photo editors. It allows CPN readers to have their work seen at the highest level and gives editors the chance to see new talent from around the world. Editor's Choice 2 follows the success of the first edition of Editor's Choice last year, in which more than 11,000 images were entered. Photographers using Canon cameras are able to upload their images for review by a leading picture editor. A different genre of photography is covered each month. For July, the category was sports photography; in August it was photojournalism; and in September it was travel, landscape and architecture. This month it's nature and wildlife photography, and Tim Harris from the Nature Picture Library/Bluegreen Pictures is on hand to review your images - you can upload your pictures until 30 November.
David Harris and CPN would like to thank all of those photographers who submitted their images to Editor's Choice 2.
