Some of Canon Ambassador Brutus Östling's best bird photographs have been printed on Canon's iPF8300 large format printer for the exhibition 'Ringmärkt' which is running at the Kulturhuset in Stockholm, Sweden, until 22 August 2010.

The exhibition focuses on many of Brutus Östling's most recent photographs of birds, including his recent shoots of Dalmatian Pelicans, which are being showcased alongside the paintings of Swedish artist Lars Jonsson to deliver two very different styles of depicting birds from world famous artists.
The exhibition presents a generous selection of photographs, watercolours and sketches, as well as new films in which Brutus Östling and Lars Jonsson present their views on their work, their interest in birds and people's attitudes to nature.
After 24 years as a publisher of poetry, literature and specialist books (a business he still continues to this day), Brutus Östling became a professional photographer in 2005 and since then has rapidly established himself as one of the world's most prominent nature photographers. Brutus Östling regards his bird photographs as 'portraits' and often shoots extremely close to his subjects to capture what the human eye sometimes doesn't register.
Explaining the production of photographic prints for Brutus Östling's exhibition Anders Engström, from Canon Sweden, told CPN: "For Brutus Östling's exhibition the latest Canon imagePROGRAF printer, an iPF8300, was used. It's a 44-inch large format printer with our latest ink technology - Lucia EX 12-colour pigment ink. We decided to use Canon Satin Photo Quality Paper (240g) and all prints were laminated and mounted on boards."
Engström added: "All prints were made from Adobe Photoshop to the iPF print driver and sent to imagePROGRAF Free Layout, a plug-in in our print driver which makes it possible to place several prints side-by-side in order to minimise paper waste when printing. Colour conversion from Adobe RGB (1998) to a custom-made ICC profile for our paper was also performed in Free Layout."
