You still have time to register online for free entry to Canon's Pro Photo Solutions show - a two-day event for video, broadcast and still imaging professionals that will be held on 26 and 27 October 2010 at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London.
Pro Photo Solutions is designed to be the largest and most comprehensive consumer-focused exhibition of Canon's imaging products with the aims of educating and inspiring visitors. The show demonstrates to professionals how Canon's imaging technologies, and those of compatible products, can be used in their workflow to generate increased revenue and business.
Canon products
The wide range of Canon products will be on show with individual zones for the EOS DSLR range, EF lenses and lens accessories, professional camcorders, large format printers, Digital Photo Professional software, PIXMA and SELPHY printers, PowerShot and IXUS HS compact cameras, broadcast lenses, LEGRIA camcorders, scanners, projectors, binoculars and calculators.

To help you to find out more about the capabilities of Canon's range of super-telephoto EF lenses there will be a 'Lens Gallery' so you can view the exhibition through the lenses. There will also be a 3D 'Projector zone' showing the capabilities of Canon's XEED projectors. To showcase the phenomenal detail and resolution of Canon large format printers there will be a gallery of large format prints of images shot by photographer Clive Booth for a current advertising campaign.
Canon Professional Services
At the Canon Professional Services (CPS) Zone the CPS team will be on hand to give technical appraisals of images, register new CPS memberships, upgrade and downgrade firmware and run Canon diagnostics on shutter actuations. The CPS team will also be running a programme of live demonstrations of Canon features including Wi-Fi, flash, and EOS Utility software.
Free-to-enter expert seminars
The 2010 event will feature an impressive line-up of free-to-enter seminars with speakers including Canon Ambassadors Jonathan Scott and Thorsten Milse, plus award-winning wildlife photographer Ben Osborne, talking about their wildlife work. DSLR movie experts Dan Chung and Philip Bloom will present their latest projects and deliver top advice whilst wedding stills photographer Brett Harkness and wedding video expert Richard Wakefield will pass on their pearls of wisdom.
Other seminar speakers will include the commercial and advertising photographer and Clive Booth and Matthew Lloyd, who won The Times Young Photographer of the Year 2009. The seminar programme will also include presentations by Nik Software, Sennheiser, the British Press Photographers Association, the Institute of Videographers, and the London Photographic Association.
Live studio
A special live studio will be at the centre of the show with Andy Kruczek, Gary Fong and David Newton running a series of live shoots and demonstrations including on-camera flash, studio lighting and shooting in available light.
HD zone
This year's event will see an increased emphasis on the convergence of stills and video technology and how embracing this can help professionals to grow their business and evolve in a rapidly changing market. The show will feature an 'HD zone' with a live professional kitchen hosted by chef and food writer Alex Rushmer - one of the three finalists in BBC MasterChef 2010 - and Director of Photography Mark Moreve will be running live demonstrations in the zone shooting HD video with Canon's XF305 professional camcorder and the EOS 5D Mark II DSLR.

Gallery Area
A special Gallery Area will feature large prints of the work of the Canon Ambassadors, images from the Press Photographers Year 2010 from their recent exhibition at the National Theatre, and the work of the six finalists in The Times Young Photographer of the Year 2010.
The winner of The Times Young Photographer of the Year 2010, sponsored by Canon UK, will be announced during a VIP reception on the evening of 26 October. Paul Sanders, Picture Editor of The Times said: "The Times Young Photographer of the Year competition is the most important prize in news photography for aspiring young photographers. The previous winners have all established themselves as very successful news photographers and, with the backing of Canon for a second year running, the profile of the event is now even higher. We look forward to announcing the winner at the Canon Pro Photo Solutions show".
Visiting photographers should remember to bring along their portfolios as they will have the chance to have their portfolios reviewed by a number of renowned photo industry professionals.

Retail Zone
Visitors will also be able to 'try and buy' at the show from a wide range of companies who provide tailored products, services and solutions to professionals. Confirmed retailers include ASK Electronics, Jacobs Photo Video, Calumet Photographic, Park Cameras, The Flash Centre, and Cameras Underwater.
