The CPN team will keep you up to date with all the goings on from the 19th Visa pour l’Image International Festival of Photojournalism Professional Week in Perpignan, France from 3 to 9 September.
Each day the site will be updated with reports, pictures and video interviews with photographers and industry figures.
Canon, as the main sponsor of the event, will be there in force to support Canon Professional Services (CPS) members and inspire all visitors with demonstrations of the latest equipment from cameras to printers and other accessories.
In 2006, Canon enlarged its partnership by including printing solutions, and doubled its display area in the Palais des Congrès.
This year Canon plans:
- A professional photography equipment area, displaying the complete EOS system (cameras, EF lenses and accessories);
- A CPS area where professionals can have their equipment cleaned and repaired;
- A professional printing equipment area featuring the photo printer PIXMA Pro and large format printer ImagePROGRAF;
- A professional photo studio, where the EOS system will be shown in action, with direct output on the printers.
Through its partnership with Visa pour l’Image, Canon honours the talent and courage of the best photographers in the photojournalism business. It also urges visitors to go to the exhibitions to discover the work of some of the best photojournalists.
This year at Visa pour l’Image, Canon France and the French Association of Female Journalists (AFJ) will celebrate the winning by Axelle de Russé of the Canon Female Photojournalist Award for 2007. The award, which includes a Canon grant of €8,000, aims to support and highlight the work of female photographers around the world. Last year’s winner, Véronique de Viguerie, will present the year-long project that she undertook aided by the grant.
