Welcome to Visa pour l’Image pro week!
The 28th Visa pour l’Image is now officially underway and already photographers are heading to the Canon Space in Perpignan’s Palais des Congrès to see the brand new EOS 5D Mark IV as well as new lenses, binoculars, Pro video cameras, professional printers, and more...
Visitors to the 2016 Visa pour l'Image are flocking to the Canon Space to get their hands on the newly launched EOS 5D Mark IV. This is professional photographers' first chance to try the remarkable camera for themselves. Also, taking advantage of the free clean and check service offered by Canon Professional Services (CPS), photographers queued up to book their cameras in for some top quality TLC from Canon engineers.
Also in the Canon Space are two exhibitions well worth checking out. Last year’s winner of the Canon Female Photojournalist Award supported by ELLE magazine, was Anastasia Rudenko, and her very first exhibition at Visa pour l’Image shows her ongoing ‘Paradise’ project which began in 2012 and continues the study of everyday life in Russia’s mental institutions. Her main exhibition is on at the Eglise des Dominicains.
Renowned agency Magnum Photos has collaborated with Canon to present ‘Exile’, an exhibition showing the work of 22 Magnum photographers, both historically and currently, who have covered powerful stories of international migration and displacement. The exhibition has been printed entirely on the remarkable 12-ink imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 A2 printer.
The Magnum Photos portfolio reviews have started and many of the 170 pre-selected photographers were lining up to have their work reviewed by industry experts while opposite the Canon Space, the free WiFi quiet zone in the Canon Lounge was a sanctuary of calm for visitors to relax and study the event timetable for what is sure to be another busy festival.
Beginning tomorrow is the first of Canon Ambassador Ziv Koren’s EOS 5D Mark IV low-light workshops. Free to attend, the numbers are limited so hurry to the Canon Space to sign up and be one of the first to use the new 5D flagship and take one away overnight to use, with Ziv picking the best images the following morning.
