AP Images, part of Associated Press, boosted their presence this year at Visa pour l’Image this year.
AP are one of the biggest agencies in the world, but Ian Cameron, vice president of AP Images said that while it was historically very strong in the news market, felt they had a lot more to offer in the entertainment and sports areas. To help with this, it doubled its stand size for the show and used it to promote it to services, including the new www.apimages.com distribution channel. “We want to improve our standing, promote our services and show the world that we really are one of the best sources of imagery. We’re one of only three or four agencies that can offer a truly global service,” said Cameron.
Having both the global and European directors of photography present made it easy for them look at the portfolios of visiting photographers, hopefully with the aim of both uncovering the next World Press Photo or Visa d'Or medal winner.
