EOS-1Ds Mark II
The EOS-1Ds Mark II captures 16.7 megapixels on a full-frame CMOS sensor. Housed in a weather-sealed magnesium alloy body, it is suited to any professional assignment anywhere in the world.
With enough resolution to satisfy any client and a 50MB uncompressed TIFF files suitable for all image libraries without interpolation, the EOS-1Ds Mark II ushered in a new dawn in 35mm imaging.
The 4fps shooting speed with a continuous burst of 32 frames makes it capable of leaving the confines of the studio and capturing the world around you in stunning detail. Although many photographers are unlikely to use the full 32 burst capacity, it allows several shorter bursts to be captured in quick succession without filling the buffer memory.
The inclusion of the new ETTL-II exposure metering makes flash exposures more stable by combining distance information from compatible lenses. It is especially useful in situations with bright areas in the frame such as a bride's dress at a wedding, where the white could previously confuse a flash meter into underexposing.
CMOS sensor technology and the DIGIC II on-camera processing ensure that even in low-light situations with high ISO settings, images exhibit low noise.
A shutter durability tested to 200,000 actuations ensures the camera will still be working even when subjected to the daily rigours of a professional photographer’s working life.
