Zooming in towards 200mm provides perspective compression with the telephoto effect to make subjects appear much closer together than they really are. At only 705g, it is easy to carry and quick to handle in fast moving situations.
Featuring a constant f/4 maximum aperture, and a ring-type USM autofocus motor, this lens will work well even when the light levels start to fall. With one fluorite element and two ultra-low dispersion (UD) elements, image quality is high with well-controlled secondary spectrum and minimal aberrations, even rivalling that of the more expensive EF70-200mm f/2.8L USM lens.
