EF70-200mm f/4L IS USM
If you travel with your camera and want a lightweight lens that will do almost anything you ask of it, the EF70-200mm f/4L IS USM is a very good choice. Much lighter than its f/2.8L IS counterpart, this lens is just as capable of producing the results in a whole range of situations from portraits, to weddings, landscapes, sports and wildlife.
The constant f/4 maximum aperture ensures you have full control over depth-of-field at all focal lengths and, in conjunction with the four stop image stabiliser, allows you to continue shooting even in quite low-light situations. The weight of the lens makes it easy to handle even when you need to respond quickly to an erratically moving animal.
With one fluorite lens element and two ultra-low dispersion (UD) elements, the optical arrangement produces high resolution images with high contrast. To suit the professional nature of the lens, it is sealed against dust and moisture that provides excellent performance even when the weather turns against you. The ring-type USM autofocus motor in the lens provides fast, silent autofocus to allow you to track moving subjects with ease.
When used with an EF1.4xII or EF2xII extender, you can make use of 98-280mm f/5.6 or 140-400mm f/8. If you are using the EOS 3 or any EOS-1series camera, then autofocus will work with either extender, however, with non-1series cameras, autofocus will only work with the EF1.4xII extender.
