The PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II allows you to produce vibrant, detailed prints in a wide range of sizes from 10x15cm, up to A3+ and 14" wide media - this is perfect for exhibiting photographs.
Taking full advantage of Canon's rich imaging heritage, the PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II creates vibrant and professional-quality prints, fast. Using standard settings it produces an A3+ bordered print in 83 seconds on PP-201 media.
Media freedom & flat print path
The PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II lets you print on a range of Canon Gloss, Matte, and Fine Art media. Alternatively photographers can select from a number of supported third party media from market leaders, such as Hahnemühle, Innova, Arches, Canson & Pictorico, to deliver complete media freedom from one printer. Thanks to the printer's flat printing path, it's possible to print on to board or canvas media up to 1.2mm thick.
Eight dye inks for wide colour gamut
With eight ChromaLife100 single dye ink tanks, including red and green inks, the PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II can reproduce a wider range of colours accurately. The convenient, individually replaceable, separate ink tanks minimise waste and reduce your costs.
Striking monochrome prints
For beautifully classic black & white photographs a dedicated monochrome printing mode and advanced cool/warm tone adjustment, made available using the Easy-PhotoPrint Pro Plug-in, achieves fine tonal gradations. The refined print engine also ensures quality and speed when printing in grayscale.
Adobe PS Elements and Easy-PhotoPrint Pro Plug-in included
For efficient photo editing, Adobe Photoshop Elements is included along with Canon Easy-PhotoPrint Pro Plug-In, for Photoshop or Digital Photo Professional, which allows you to layout multiple images and adjust the print settings, all from one screen.
Ambient Light Correction
The Ambient Light Correction feature (Windows Vista and 7) automatically corrects the print colour tones for accurate colour rendition in the lighting conditions under which it will be displayed.
Direct Print & PictBridge
The PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Direct Print system allows you to print directly from Canon cameras, digital camcorders and camera phones via PictBridge. The printer also supports direct Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Disk printing.
ChromaLife100 dye inks
Due to its eight individual ChromaLife100 dye inks, the PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II has the ability to deliver accurate colour reproduction across a wide colour gamut. When used with Canon media the ChromaLife100 inks used by the PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II give long-lasting, beautiful photographs with a 100-year life in an album.
FINE print quality and 16 bits per channel
Canon's FINE Print head is made by a full-photolithography process, not bonded, which enables accurate placement and control of each individual drop of ink. Each microscopic droplet of ink can be as small as 2 picolitres. The FINE technology also delivers a high resolution of up to 4800x2400 dpi. The result is highly detailed, grain-free prints. 16 bits per channel printing, with 276 trillion different colours available, creates smoother tonal gradations in both colour and monochrome and enables you to make the most of your 16-bit images.
Canon Kyuanos technology
The Ambient Light Correction feature (Windows Vista and 7) uses Canon's Kyuanos colour management technology. With Kyuanos colour profiles can be set up automatically, making it easy to achieve high-accuracy colour matching that satisfies professional requirements.
The colour reproduction range of input and output devices has expanded in recent years, making it difficult to correctly reproduce colours using the conventional 8-bit and sRGB standard colour space. Kyuanos offers an extended colour space for 16-bit and 32-bit formats that allows for maximum input and output performance without colour space restrictions. This enables the reproduction of exceptionally vivid colours with rich gradation.
Another feature of Kyuanos is the support for different lighting environments. Kyuanos is able to numerically convert colours based on human perception, lighting characteristics that significantly affect how images appear (for example, whether fluorescent or incandescent lighting is being used), and the colour reproduction characteristics of the device in question. Using this data to convert images enables colour consistency, even under different lighting environments.
