Rear and front feed & Direct Print
The PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II allows for manual feeding of media into the front of the printer and switch-back feeding ensures compatibility with a diverse array of media. Via the Direct Print system you can also print directly from Canon cameras, digital camcorders and camera phones.
10 LUCIA pigment ink system
The PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II's has a 10 colour, fade resistant LUCIA pigment ink system that include three types of monochromatic ink - Grey, Photo Black and Matte Black. The neutral grey and metameric properties of Canon's LUCIA inks means that neutral, smooth & high contrast mono prints are easily achieved - even when there are elements of both colour and monochrome in the image.
- Canon's Single Ink system maximises printing efficiency by providing individually replaceable ink tanks for each colour. An ink level window on each tank allows for quick visual checks of ink status. A Smart LED provides a visual warning when an ink tank is empty or running low.
16 bits per channel capability
The addition of a 16 bits per channel print capability - with 276 trillion possible colours - offers outstandingly smooth tonal gradations in both colour and monochrome prints.
Archival inks for image longevity
The archival inks used by the PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II give a lightfastness of over 100 years, and gas fastness of over 50 years - giving the long-life, fade-resistant prints required to sell your images.
Media freedom and glossy prints
The PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II allows you to print your images on gloss media with no 'Bronzing' or 'Gloss differential'. You can choose from a range of Canon Gloss, Matte, and Fine Art media. Alternatively the printer supports ICC profiles for many specialist media. You can select from a number of supported third party media such as Hahnemühle, Crane, Somerset, Moab, Innova, Arches, Canson, Pictorico and PCM. Thanks to the flat paper path of the Pro9500 Mark II you can print on to media up to 1.2mm thick.
Ambient Light Correction
The Ambient Light Correction feature (Windows Vista and 7) automatically corrects the print colour tones for accurate colour rendition in the lighting conditions under which it will be displayed.
For efficient photo editing the PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II comes with Adobe Photoshop Elements and Canon Easy-PhotoPrint Pro Plug-In, for Photoshop (Compatible with Photoshop CS-CS5 and Photoshop Elements) or Digital Photo Professional, which allows you to layout multiple images and adjust the print settings all from one screen.
LUCIA pigment ink
Due to its 10 individual inks, the PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II has the ability to switch between gloss and matte medias without swapping cartridges. To ensure the best colour performance, each PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II has been individually calibrated before leaving the factory. The 10 ink system extends the standard CMYK colours with red, green, light magenta, light cyan and grey inks to ensure an exceptionally large colour gamut and neutral monochrome images.
FINE print quality and 16 bits per channel
Canon's FINE Print head is made by a full-photolithography process, not bonded, which enables accurate placement and control of each individual drop of ink. Each microscopic droplet of ink can be as small as 3 picolitres. The FINE technology also delivers a high resolution of 4800x2400 dpi. The result is highly detailed, grain-free prints. 16 bits per channel printing creates smoother tonal gradations in both colour and monochrome and enables you to make the most of your 16-bit images.
Canon Kyuanos technology
The Ambient Light Correction feature (Windows Vista and 7) uses Canon's Kyuanos colour management technology. With Kyuanos colour profiles can be set up automatically, making it easy to achieve high-accuracy colour matching that satisfies professional requirements.
The colour reproduction range of input and output devices has expanded in recent years, making it difficult to correctly reproduce colours using the conventional 8-bit and sRGB standard colour space. Kyuanos offers an extended colour space for 16-bit and 32-bit formats that allows for maximum input and output performance without colour space restrictions. This enables the reproduction of exceptionally vivid colours with rich gradation.
Another feature of Kyuanos is the support for different lighting environments. Kyuanos is able to numerically convert colours based on human perception, lighting characteristics that significantly affect how images appear (for example, whether fluorescent or incandescent lighting is being used), and the colour reproduction characteristics of the device in question. Using this data to convert images enables colour consistency, even under different lighting environments.
