Portrait pictures: guest editor — Marcel Saba
Marcel Saba, founder of Redux Pictures.
During December 2010 and early January 2011 CPN readers from around the world submitted their portrait images for review by Marcel Saba from Redux Pictures.
In a CPN multimedia presentation Marcel Saba chooses 30 pictures from the thousands submitted, and talks in detail about his favourite images from within his final shortlisted selection.
Of the overall standard of entries Marcel Saba commented: "The portrait styles I looked at were very varied and it's good to see that - the variety was very intriguing and interesting to me. When you look at a portrait it doesn't mean you have to look at somebody's face or a head shot - it's about the overall feel of an image; if it attracted you and hypnotised you." Saba also gives some great advice including the types of images that interest Redux Pictures, what photographers should be doing to make their portraits stand out, and how he feels that photographers should now take a very personal approach when contacting agencies.
