Paul Römer, Managing Editor, National Geographic Traveler (Dutch edition)
Having worked as a writer for various Dutch magazines and newspapers in the late 1990s, Paul Römer was appointed Editor of Focus, one of Holland's largest photo magazines. This is how he became involved in picture editing. In 2000 he started working for the Dutch language edition of National Geographic magazine. As deputy editor, a position he held for 11 years, Römer was responsible for the magazine's photography in locally produced feature stories. In July 2011, Römer accepted a position as managing editor with Traveler, National Geographic's travel magazine (Dutch edition). As such he is very much involved in writing, assigning photographers, picture editing and defining Traveler's visual narrative.
