The exhibition "70 Faces" subtly touches upon the exposed nerves of Israeli society. It deals with many diverse issues that are usually far from the public eye, by using a rich variety of raw materials entailing social, political, religious and military implications, as well as local and historical meaning.

The photos in this exhibit are deeply immersed in perspective and insight, trying to capture the essence of Israel in all its aspects. Images selected for this project portray the diversity, the range, the multifaceted (sometimes to an extreme) Israeli society, and various perspectives from a contemporary point of view, on the Israel/Jewish reality – between exposure and concealment, between unity and polarity – in order to evoke and begin the discourse with these images.

This is a discourse on what Jewish art should be, the difference between Israel's perception of Judaism and that of the rest of the world, the axis of the discourse and the "role" of the artist in this story, as one who creates out of an urge to share and exhibit in order to stimulate mutual discussion.

The exhibition is being held as part of the Biennale for Contemporary Jewish Art in Jerusalem, based in the renovated gallery of the historical train station in Jerusalem. It runs until end of October 2013.
