Existing Canon Professional Services (CPS) members who registered for the re-launched CPS programme in 2010 now need to renew their accounts. To do so just log in to your account, confirm your current equipment and follow the on-screen instructions to ensure that you're a fully renewed 2011 CPS user. Soon after renewing you will be sent your new 2011 CPS membership card.

The CPS programme was re-launched in April 2010 and now offers more reliable support and information to qualifying professional photographers and videographers across Europe. It saw the introduction of multiple levels of membership that allow for a greater number of professional photographers to qualify for the benefits of CPS support.

As well as those members who have to renew for 2011 any Canon photographers and videographers who wish to join the CPS programme can just click here, enter their details, and register their Canon equipment so that it qualifies for CPS support from Canon. To help you to register Canon equipment serial numbers correctly you can download 'A guide to locating Canon equipment serial numbers' on the right hand side of this page. You must register the correct serial numbers of all of your Canon equipment to ensure that it qualifies for service as part of the CPS programme.

The CPS system has been in operation for over 15 years and offers professional users of Canon products exclusive, free access to a range of benefits. These benefits include support from CPS teams at many international and local events, a priority repair service, plus direct support from Canon Professional Representatives in selected European countries.

CPS membership levels

The CPS programme offers three types of membership to professional photographers, depending on the qualifying equipment registered with the scheme.

* Silver – membership is available to photographers who register two qualifying bodies and three qualifying lenses. Repairs to CPS-serviced equipment will also be turned around in five working days.

* Gold – membership is available to those who register two qualifying bodies and three qualifying lenses. Repairs to CPS-serviced equipment will be turned around in three working days with a free back-up loan service should this turnaround time be exceeded.

* Platinum – membership is available to professional photographers with a wider array of Canon equipment after registering three qualifying bodes and four lenses. Benefits of this membership include a two-day turnaround for repairs to CPS-serviced equipment and free back-up equipment loans.

CPS Video

Videographers registering one qualifying camcorder will also benefit from specialist support and priority repairs with a maximum six-day delay and free back-up loan service should this promised repair period be exceeded.

Both those CPS members renewing for 2011 (if they have new equipment to add), and those registering as new CPS members, can register their Canon equipment easily. The appropriate level of membership will be automatically assigned depending on the number of qualifying bodies and lenses that have been registered with CPS.

The European countries that currently offer the CPS programme are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
