Award-winning French photojournalist Sarah Caron studied literature and the civilisation of Spain and Latin America. She took her first photographs in Cuba in 1994 and has worked in South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Her images have featured in The New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, Time, Paris Match, Geo, ELLE, Le Monde, Stern, and Der Spiegel amongst others. In 2006 she received the Getty Foundation's Getty Award for her work in Palestine. Since 2007 assignments from the international media have taken her to Afghanistan and Pakistan on numerous occasions, and she has published two books of her work in Pakistan. In July 2012 Sarah won the 2012 Canon AFJ Award for female photojournalists.
